Brief instructions :                                   01.01.10
Clean the area and make sure it is dry.
Measure moisture content !
Fully impregnate surface with I-231, several times wet in wet if necessary.
Protect against rain for several days.

Description of material :
Impregnation by I-231 prevents water and dirt particles from penetrating into the natural stone and damaging the substance of the stone.
Normal surface pollution can no more get stuck into the natural stone surface.
The cleaning capability of stone surfaces (particularly of rough surfaces) is considerably improved.

Contents :
Organosilicon compounds, aromatic series of hydrocarbons.

Conditions for use :
Morbid stone areas should be previously consolidated using S-241 Sandstone Hardener.
(Waiting time before application of I-231 Impregnator approx. 2 - 3 weeks).
Sandstone areas should be clean and dry. Areas are cleaned with carefully handled high pressure water (max 60 bars) and, if necessary, cleaned with R-267 Sandstone Cleaner (only where unavoidable) or with R-260 Moss Remover.
Residual moisture of <2,0 % in the sandstone will be bound by the impregnation product. Surfaces must not be treated at a higher moisture content !
Impregnation is applied once the areas are completely dry (approx.2 days after cleaning).
Natural stone floors must nor be warm, as otherwise impregnation would evaporate too quickly and could not penetrate into th stone.

Application :
Fully impregnate the area in several passes with I-231 using the G-805 Impregnation pump or a paintbrush.
If the stone completely absorbs the product, more impregnation has to be applied until saturation.
Protect the area for several days against rain.

Technical data :
GGVS : cl.3.31 C - inflammable according VbF Standard.
Application temperature > +5° C
Dry storage : +5° C minimum.

Data after curing :
Water vapour diffusion capacity of the stone approx. 85 %.

Defects after application :
If the surfaces shows dark spots or stripes after impregnation this is due :
1.) either to an area not completely dry before treatment !
2.) or to an unevenly applied and not fully impregnated surface !
If the surfaces have no water-repellent effect, the impregnation product has been insufficiently applied !

Protection at work :     environmental protection :
Respect the general and professional protection rules and regulations.
If splashes reach the eyes, thoroughly rinse with plenty of water and seek medical attention.
The product contains solvents causing temporary giddiness when inhaled, it is therefore recommended to wear a gasmask when working in closed premises.
The product must not reach any waters nor the sewerage.
Small residual quantities left in the tin containers are left to dry in; the solid content is then disposable via the household refuse. Empty tin containers should be brought to recycling units.
