H-945 Marble-e

                      M A T E R I A L - D A T A S H E E T

H-945  for Marble and Limestone

Brief instructions :
                                  01.01.10
on Single Slabs :
Features :
DNS-Denzel Stone Crack Adhesives have an excellent penetration capacity for small cracks. Even in the finest cracks the adhesion remains excellent after hardening so that stones susceptible to cracking cannot break apart any more while sawing the slabs.

Blemishes on the stone surface are optimally covered ! On light colored and "tender" granites, the resin being rather fluid, can also penetrate into the stone capillars left and right of the crack where it might possibly produce a dark stripe in the crack area !
Test first in inconspicuous area !

Short instruction :
Slabs grinded upto grade 120.
Slabs dry in Denzel ThermoVac oven – or 1 day well ventilated).
3 resin-application space.

Needed Tools :
Low weight balance.(2 kg)
Large-surface Vacuum lifter.
Large metal spatula.
Mixer for paint liquids.
Discharge bench for barrels.
PVC foil.
tables to stock the horizontal layed slabs.
appropriate gloves.
Solvent B to clean tools.

Preparation of the stone slabs :
The stone slabs should be dry. (After sawing or grinding, the slabs should be stored for approx. 1 day, well ventilated if need be, by placing spacers between them), or bring the slabs to an oven for drying.
On stone slabs showing only isolated, deep cracks, the resin can be directly applied on the sawn surface. Cracks larger than 0,5 mm should be sealed on the rear side using quick-curing automotive paste filler H-970 so as to prevent the fluid resin from floating out when applying the resin at the front side.
Stone slabs showing a large number of very small cracks should first be grinded using grain size up to 80 or 120.
The grinded slabs, however, should again be allowed to dry for one day before the resin is to be applied.
Already polished slabs, showing very small cracks, may of course subsequently be applied with resin, but it is sometimes necessary to grind the polish again because the polishing sludge has closed these small cracks in such a way that even our crack adhesive cannot optimally penetrate into these cracks.

Treatment of isolated cracks in polished slabs :
Large cracks should be sealed at the back side using quick-curing automotive paste filler H 970 in order to prevent the resin from floating out. Carefully apply the resin mixture (with a nail, for instance) only on the crack without staining large adjacent areas. After approx. 6 - 8 hours curing time (when the resin has solidified), the resin in excess can be scraped off using a razor blade, thus possibly avoiding second polishing. If grinding and polishing cannot be avoided, then we recommend using our POLIMA - Polishing - System.

Short drying or heating methods (gaslamp) are not effective because the heat cannot enter inside the slab and the flame produces condensation-water.
Before applying the resin, both the resin and the slabs should be stored in the same temperature premises.
Optimal temperatures are between 15 and 25°C.
rough-sawn slabs mean - high product consumption - (good for resin-producer).
wet slabs - will produce stains and not adhere properly.
slabs too hot or too cold - will cause a temperature shock of the resin.
If the resin-temperature is lower than 20°C — heat both components in warm water basin upto 25°C.

Working place :
Keep the working area clean !
Put the barrels on a discharge bench and hang collecting tins under the drain cock.
Spill tree-bark on the working area floor for a better remove of disposed product residue.
resin on the floor can cause an accident and means loss of product.
Working hygiene ! Always use appropriate gloves !
resin on the skin is injurious to health.
BEFORE you start working, apply on hands and arms _Arretil" protective cream made by Stockhausen, Krefeld, Germany.
BEFORE eating or going to the lavatory wash your hands using an acid soap (pH5).

Ingredients :
Component A : reaction product bisphenol A/F and epichlorhydrin resins with a molekular weight of <=700.
Component B : Polyamin
Resin mixture :
Weigh-in the components exactly, in the indicated proportions, using a scale, and mix them with a mixer for approx. half minute. Maximum Mixture Quantity 1 Kg.
imprecise proportions yield loss of product properties.
insufficient mixing causes stains which are irreparable.
if too high mixture quantity - the resin gets fast hardening in the tin.
Apply the resin mixture uniformly on the slab using a metal spatula.
Accumulate the resin mixture over cracks.

Resin coverage :
approx. 25 - 35 g/sqm.
uneven application will result in stains.
insufficient resin cannot stick cracks together.
Use H-954 Solvent B for cleaning the tools.

Curing time before polishing :
Keep the resinated slabs UNMOVED for minimum :
at 45°C approx. 4,5 hours
premature polishing will stick adhesive to the grinding tools.
premature moving of the slabs riscs again breakdanger because resin is not cured.

Storage of the resin components :
in dry premises at 15° C minimum.
Storage life unmixed approx. 5 years.
moisture would cause rust on the tins.
cold resin has a high viscousity (too "thick" to penetrate into fine crakcs).

Disposal of empty drums :
It is possible to use again packing drums which are proper inside. Recycling !
If no recycling - Cut in discharge holes for the tins to be completely emptied.
Do not dispose of the product into the earth and ground water.
Drain off the product and use it - save on product !

Safety :
Liquid resin components are injurious to health if swallowed or in contact with skin.
Therefore take care about working hygiene and use gloves.
In case of contact with the skin, wash with soap and plenty of water.
In case of polluted clothes - take them off immediately and wash the skin.
In case of eye contact - immediately rinse with plenty of water for 15 minutes and consult a physician.
Cortison Depot should be administered in case of any reaction on sensible skin.
The cured resin mixture has no harmful effects.

Our directions for use are only general recommendations to be checked on site for each specific use.
